As our main initiative, the stove building process is the core of what we do and holds our project together. As women are the primary cooks within the family unit, they are consequently the main users of the stoves. This initiative emphasizes women's health as an essential element in creating healthy families, communities, and generations. Additionally, each stove functions as a means of sustainable energyas it consumes roughly a quarter of the amount of wood that an open fire would use in a month. Therefore, each family that receives a stove becomes less financially burdened as it doesn't have to purchase the same amount of wood.

Our stove supplier, Eco-comal, is a business and factory located in the town of Santiago Zamora in Sacatapequez, Guatemala. Its mission is to provide organic stoves that help to:

" solve the problem of the misuse of wood over time in Guatemalan families and the negative impact it has had on the health of the population and the environmentaldeterioration that has been caused by this traditional practice. This technology is aimed at minimizing the consumption of firewood; we did this through a system of complete combustion efficiency, which reduces wood consumption by 60% when being compared to an open fire or a wood-burning grill" (Eco-comal).

We have thoroughly enjoyed building a relationship with Eco-comal over the years and fully support their efforts of sustainable, socially just, and environmentally conscious production.
